Ron Paul

Been watching some clips of him on youtube. The 2008 Republican debates were amazing. He practically pissed off the entire venue with his ideas. Yet they made perfect sense to me. Bill Maher (as left as they come) had him on his show and called him his personal hero.

He squared off with Bernanke and made him silent with his polite yet vicious outlook on the feds strategies for helping the economy. I'm not really sure where I stand on party affiliation but Ron Paul could never become president. Hes not willing to play the game and no one makes it to the top with that kind of mentality.

He is politics I can believe in. My ignorant 2008 self was clueless.

He boldly said that 911 was not because the terrorists hate our freedom. Its because we are over there sticking our nose in shit that we shouldnt. He cited oil as one of the reasons. (wow)

Of course Giuliani ripped into him and asked him to retract that statement but I realized it was simply because he knew the public doesn't want to hear that kind of thing. We want to have a channel for our outlets of anger and no one is more ready to shove a flag up a terrorists ass without asking questions like a Republican.

That moment separated Ron from the entire group of debaters. He is willing to take stands the public cant swallow. He uses logic and facts and common sense. The others might even agree with him behind closed doors but no one would admit it and jeapordise their chances to pander to the ignorant right-wing public.

Ron. I regret not being aware of your awesomeness sooner. I wish for a world where you could be president.

New Orleans

The 5 of us had a blast. Cemetery tours, good food, the french quarter, jazz and more jazz, cafes, cathedrals, casinos (i won $300!), Napolean's Death Mask, palm reading. We really did it all.

shiny part 2

picked up my first batch of silver today. these things are pretty.

The office where I picked them up was in a bank building. The door was unmarked. They escorted me to an empty conference room with a camera on the ceiling while I waited for the guy who sold them to me over the phone to arrive. After a few minutes he came in.

He was a nice guy. Friendly.

I started talking about what I knew and have researched. He smiled and (just as casually as could be) completely confirmed the shit storm that the world is about to go through.

He said this is the third quarter. We are nearing some tough times.

We talked about 20 minutes or so about the economy and precious metals. He said the average American is either uninformed or has their head in the sand about whats to come.

Regardless, I feel good about this decision and will continue to put money into these things (and doing my research)

All aboard!

taxes

Seems the left-brain side of life is pretty much raking me over the coals these days.

I am an independent contractor and didn't realize some important tax implications so I am going to owe more than I expected. And I just learned some of my ideas on deductions were incorrect. FML.

This will throw a kink into my investing plans for sure.

I think I just became an adult... I am stressing the IRS, my credit cards and my savings. I just need a wife, 2.5 children and a home and Ill be Joe Everyman.

The worst part is this will most certainly affect my ability to fund the album.

Shit just got real.

shiny

I have been researching Silver as an investment.

A few years ago my wealthy friend (mentioned a few posts down) told me over dinner to get ready for a big economic fallout. He told me to invest in Silver/Gold asap. Gold was out of my price range but Silver was a nice 10 bucks or so per ounce.

Of course his description of what was to come was just so awful sounding my brain simply didn't process it. I couldn't accept some of the things he was telling me. Hyperinflation, the middle class being wiped out. AH!

It was very Chicken Little-ish and I went about my business.

Fast forward to today. In the last 3 months Silver has jumped from 17 to 30 per ounce. Regardless of whether the economy will completely collapse and readjust great depression style, I can honestly say i should have put a shit ton of money in Silver.

So I bought some books he recommended and I hope to find some other side of the coin authors to get perspective, but if my buddys prediction is accurate we are looking at a very busy 2 or 3 years. One filled with huge economic changes that will affect the entire world. It will be what he calls an unprecedented "transfer of wealth" from the unprepared to those in the know and well-positioned.

The United Stated of China anyone?

;P

Hello 2011

NYE was fun. Parts sucked. Parts rocked. In the end it was just another night.

Big changes on the horizon. I am trying to get something worked out where I can move to San Francisco for awhile and work there a couple weeks. The guy we stayed with has not responded to my email. Maybe not a great sign but it could just be the holidays.

But if he is down with me using his spare room then I am heading west once the album is done. If not SF, then I will set my sights elsewhere. But its time to use my work situation to its fullest advantage.
